Life and Friends in Kaifeng
Hello everyone, my name is Zhang Hua, and I am a university student in Kaifeng, China. Kaifeng, an ancient city steeped in history and culture, has become a significant part of my life over the past few years. As a student at Henan University, I have had the privilege to explore this vibrant city and meet people from all walks of life.
In Kaifeng, the streets are filled with the aroma of delicious snacks, such as Kaifeng-style baozi and tangyuan. The old city walls and ancient temples provide a perfect backdrop for a leisurely walk. My daily routine involves attending classes, studying at the library, and occasionally visiting some of the local landmarks. One of my favorite spots is the Iron Tower Park, where I often spend my free time reading or just enjoying the peaceful environment.
Beyond academics, I am passionate about photography. Capturing the beauty of Kaifeng through my lens has been a rewarding experience. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a photography exhibition at the local art gallery, which was truly inspiring. The exhibit showcased the works of both established and emerging photographers, providing a unique perspective on the city's diverse culture and landscapes.
I also enjoy volunteering at the local community center, where I help with after-school programs for underprivileged children. It's a fulfilling way to give back to the community and make a positive impact. Additionally, I am involved in a student-led environmental club that focuses on promoting sustainability and eco-friendly practices within the university and the broader community.
One of the highlights of my university life is the annual cultural festival, where students from different backgrounds come together to celebrate their traditions. This year, I participated in a traditional dance performance, which was a lot of fun and allowed me to connect with peers who share similar interests.
Despite the busy schedule, I always find time to connect with friends and family. Whether it's grabbing a quick meal at a street vendor or planning a weekend getaway to nearby attractions, these moments are invaluable. If you're looking to expand your social circle or simply want to learn more about Kaifeng, feel free to reach out. I would love to share more about my experiences and explore new friendships together.
