Meeting New People in Guilin
Hi everyone! My name is Li Wei, and I'm a second-year university student at Guilin University of Technology. I was born and raised in Guilin, a city renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, ranging from majestic karst mountains to serene rivers like the Lijiang. The city has a rich cultural heritage, which I love exploring in my free time.
Life as a university student in Guilin is both challenging and rewarding. My days are filled with lectures, group projects, and endless cups of coffee to keep me going. However, I find time to unwind by visiting the many scenic spots around the city. One of my favorite places is the Elephant Trunk Hill, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Lijiang River and the surrounding mountains. It’s a perfect spot for a picnic or just a quiet afternoon of reflection.
One of the highlights of living in Guilin is the local cuisine. From savory Guilin rice noodles to the spicy and flavorful snail rice noodles, there's always something new to try. I also enjoy cooking traditional dishes at home, often inviting my friends over for dinner parties. It’s a great way to bond and share our love for food.
Reading is another passion of mine. I often visit the local bookstores and libraries, immersing myself in various genres, from science fiction to non-fiction. If you’re looking for a good read, check out Dangdang Bookstore, where you can find an extensive collection of books in both Chinese and English.
Besides academic pursuits and personal interests, I am actively involved in community service. Every weekend, I volunteer at a local animal shelter, helping to care for abandoned pets and raising awareness about animal welfare. It’s a fulfilling experience that reminds me of the importance of giving back to the community.
Living in Guilin has taught me the value of connections. Whether it’s through my studies, hobbies, or volunteer work, I’ve met some incredible people who have enriched my life in countless ways. That’s why I’m reaching out through this platform—to connect with more people who share similar interests or are simply curious about the world.
I look forward to meeting new friends, sharing stories, and learning from each other. If you're ever in Guilin, I’d be happy to show you around and introduce you to the hidden gems of the city. Let’s connect twice, and make lifelong friendships!
